Sir Walter Scott, engraving
by
Edward Lacey of a medallion by Alfred Joseph Stothard derived
from a bust by Sir
Francis Leggatt Chantrey (1832)
This engraving is based on a medallion cast
in 1826 by Alfred Joseph Stothard which was derived from the
marble replica of Chantrey's bust at Abbotsford.
It was published as the frontispiece to The Waverley Album:
Containing Fifty-one Line Engravings to Illustrate the Novels
and Tales of Sir Walter Scott (London: Charles Heath, 1832).
The ornament was engraved by Samuel Mitan
after a design by Henry Corbould.
