Sir Walter Scott, engraved by George B. Shaw after Sir Francis Leggatt Chantrey (1839)

Shaw's engraving is taken from the marble replica of Chantrey's bust at Abbotsford. It was first published in vol. VIII of the 2nd edition of John Gibson Lockhart's Memoirs of the Life of Sir Walter Scott, Bart. (Edinburgh: Cadell, 1839). The copy above is from a later edition of Lockhart published by Adam & Charles Black in 1853.
