Corson B.NAY.2

Sir Walter Scott, lithograph derived from James Thomson's engraving after Sir Francis Leggatt Chantrey (1833)

This anonymous lithograph is a reversed version of an 1831 engraving by James Thomson taken from the marble replica of Chantrey's bust at Abbotsford. It portrays Scott turning to the viewer's left rather than right. It published in B. S. Nayler's A Memoir of the Life and Writings of Walter Scott, the Wizzard [sic] of the North, the Great Unknown, the Author of Waverley (Amsterdam: Nayler & Co., 1833)
